TIE has formalized a Thinkfinity State Education Partnership with Verizon Foundation to roll out the Thinkfinity program with the state of South Dakota. Our goals are focused on outreach and communication and professional development.
Outreach and Communication – TIE provides all South Dakota teachers a website specific to the state for information about new updates to Thinkfinity, events, and announcements. That site is Thinkfinity.tie.net. Thinkfinity will also be a part of the TIE Conference each spring both for participant sessions and a booth to share all the latest information about this free powerful educational site.
Professional Development – TIE will provide FREE training at two levels within South Dakota. Field trainers will be trained to be experts in their schools and to train end users on the use of Thinkfinity resources in the classroom. Field Trainers who have met the qualifications will be trained to be SD Certified Trainers. The certified trainers may then train other field trainers within the state. We are also working with the universities to integrate Thinkfinity resources into all pre-service and content courses. The ultimate goal is to have certified trainers at both the university and ESA levels to provide field trainers for each building within every school district within the state of South Dakota.
